Midwest Weird TalesWhen I first came to the U.S. for Graduate School, the otherworldly, gloomy Midwestern scenery fascinated me. Inspired, I began interviewing locals about their paranormal and scary experiences. I also started making illustrations for them, and it became my first year project for graduate school.
As an ongoing project, the goal is to create a short anthology book combining my illustrations with these creepy stories, using an outsider lens to observe the American Midwest.

Gallery Show
As an art/design student project, I presented them in a gallery environment as part of a student show. Having gotten a wall with a black door in the middle, I decided to utilize this awkward position with a pointillism mural design. It echoed my illustration technique and created the appropriate background for the framed illustration.
